Road To Berlin: After coming second in La Liga in the 2013/14 season, FC Barcelona qualified for Europe. On August 28, 2014, they were drawn in Group F along with Paris Saint-Germain FC, AFC Ajax, and APOEL FC. They finished first in the group with 15 points (five wins and only one loss away at Paris), which saw them advance to the Knockout Phase. 

Barça were drawn against Manchester City FC in the Round of 16, a repeat of last year. They won the first leg 1-2 after a Suarez brace. A late penalty save from City keeper Joe Hart kept Messi out and City in the game. At the home leg at the Camp Nou, Rakitić netted the game’s only goal. A penalty save from ter Stegen kept the score at 0-1, which saw Barça advance. 

  Barcelona were drawn against Paris Saint-Germain for the quarterfinals. This saw a repeat of the Group Stage tie against the two clubs. At the away leg, the hosts were only able to net one goal while Suarez and Neymar were able to net three goals for Barça, ending the game at 1-3. At the home leg, a Neymar brace saw Barça advance on a 5-1 aggregate.

   The German champions, FC Bayern Munich would be Barcelona‘s next and final opponent before the finals. This tie brought emotions to fans, including the two Alcântara brothers, Rafinha and Thiago, playing against each other for the first time, and former Barça manager Pep Guardiola‘s first return to the Camp Nou since he left for Germany. The first leg was played at the Camp Nou, which saw Barça come out victorious. The game ended 3-0, with two goals from Messi and one from Neymar. The Germans managed to win 3-2 during the second leg but the 5-3 aggregate was not enough to see them through, leaving Barça to advance to the Champions League finals. 

  FC Barcelona will be traveling to Berlin for the Champions League Finals on June 6th, in hopes of being crowned champions of Europe for a fifth time.
